Details

This 21-kilometre route, with just 144 metres of ascent, takes you to the foothills of the Vosges mountains. You'll pass through the pretty, flower-filled village of Rougegoutte, where you can stop to admire its church, first mentioned in the 12th century, and its justice tree, planted around 1578. At La planche-le-Prêtre, make a short diversions to see the ruins of the Château de Rosemont, built under Louis de Mousson, Count of Montbéliard, in the 11th century. Descend to Giromagny, a village with 14 fountains, the starting point for many walks and mountain bike rides, and for the ascent of the Ballon d'Alsace by many cyclists. Stop off at the village square to admire the Mazarin house, which was the home of the mining court in 1561. A cycle route will take you to the Malsaucy water sports centre.
