Details

This loop starts at the Malsaucy site in the commune of Sermamagny (famous for its "Les Eurockéennes" rock festival) and follows the cycle path to Giromagny. The route continues in the direction of Lepuix and from Malvaux begins the 11km climb up to the Ballon d'Alsace, which offers magnificent views over the Savoureuse, Doller and Moselle valleys and the Bernese Alps. On the Alsatian side, the return journey takes us down through the Alfed and Sewen lakes and the Doller valley to Masevaux. We then enter the Territoire de Belfort again, passing through Rougemont le Château and its golf course, the hamlet of Saint Nicolas and its chapel, and several small villages in the southern Vosges to reach Sermamagny and its Malsaucy site.
