We've known him as Scapin, Richard III or Cyrano... With Le Funambule, Philippe TORRETON directs and performs Jean Genet's play, a love song from one poet to another artist, which questions creation and self-denial. A child of the welfare system, a homosexual, a classic writer and a brilliant provocateur, Jean GENET turns to his lover Abdallah BENTAGA, a tightrope walker, to help him reach the heights of his art. This mature work offers sublime pages on desire and its intertwining with death. To convey its full intensity, Philippe TORRETON has chosen to be accompanied on stage by musician Boris BOUBLIL. Alongside them, fildefériste Julien POSADA, breathtaking in his precision, in a derelict big top setting.
